Durable Graco Lightweight Stroller In recent times, we are fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the improvements in lightweight stroller designs. These new designs are now very common and seen on a daily basis whenever you are in an area where anyone is strolling with their baby, such as the park or shopping mall. Although they are now commonplace, it has not been long that the lightweight strollers of today have been in service. In the early days of stroller use and design, there were not many different types of strollers and those that were available were cumbersome and difficult by today’s standards. The very first strollers were heavy and hard to maneuver and not optimally comfortable for baby, and owned mostly by the rich or aristocrats.

lightweight strollersWe are fortunate that today’s lightweight strollers have evolved from the bulky units of yesteryear. The amazing advancements in materials technology have made lightweight strollers plentiful, durable, and easy to utilize. For example, the use of aluminum, or lightweight steel, for the frame has helped with weight reduction. It is easy to keep the units clean with the new materials which are used in the construction of the lightweight strollers, and these materials are also ideal for creating storage spaces under the seating area for your diaper bags, pocketbooks, older children’s items, or even things you have picked up while shopping or visiting. Your child can always be comfortable because the lightweight stroller designers have not only used cushioning materials such as foam for the seating areas, but created ways to have the stroller backs recline, which helps baby be relaxed enough to nap without straining his or her neck. Finally, the feedback from parents has assisted the manufacturers in the designs not only of the lightweight strollers themselves but how they fold up compactly as well. All these advances have created the effective and highly popular lightweight stroller we use on almost a daily basis.

As more and more lightweight strollers are sold and seeing regular usage, there are many scientific advancements and leaps in technology waiting to make them even lighter and more durable in the future. With so much effort and so much inclination towards developing lightweight strollers and making life easier on the individuals who are required to use them, it is only natural to see these types of advancements from time to time. With mothers and families depending on lightweight strollers and their steady advancement in technology over the years, it only makes sense that there would be significant changes in the design and style of the extremely popular products. Lightweight strollers are so popular many families have more than one!

While it is somewhat amusing to consider what the earliest strollers may have looked like compared to modern day products from the assembly line, it is interesting to note that there have been many centuries of innovation between the two products. With today’s phenomenally well-funded research and development departments, lightweight strollers are a commonplace item which are easy to manufacture and easy to use.

Have you ever been in public and seen some poor parent or grandparent struggling to open a massive stroller? These ‘one handed’ operations usually require several hands to open and close, which is not always possible when you have a squirming infant or toddler to deal with as well. Convenience strollers provide an alternative to parents or grandparents who want a stroller but do not want to have to deal with the size and hassle of the larger strollers that come with many baby travel systems.

Convenience strollers for infantsConvenience strollers are lightweight strollers that fold up easily to stash in your car’s trunk. They are more durable and comfortable than umbrella strollers, but less bulky than the single stroller that comes with a baby travel system. They typically forgo the luxuries like parent cup holders or huge under-carriage baskets. They do have conveniences, such as a cup holder for the child or a small basket for carrying necessary items, but the main goal of the stroller is to be compact, comfortable, and convenient to use.

Convenience StrollerConvenience strollers do not attach to infant carriers, so many parents wait to use them until the child is able to sit up on his own. However, many of these lightweight strollers do recline fully, so infants can use them comfortably, just not with the infant carrier.

Whenever you purchase a stroller, whether it be a normal sized stroller or a convenience stroller, you need to be concerned with safety. If you plan to use the stroller with a baby, not a toddler, you need a 5-point safety harness restraint system to keep your baby where she needs to be. Always check the weight guidelines on a stroller before using it to make sure that your baby fits properly. Stability can also be a concern. Some types of lightweight strollers, such as umbrella strollers, can tip easily. Convenience strollers tend to have sturdy wheels and strong suspension systems to add stability for your baby. Finally, locking wheels will protect your baby from rolling away when you park the stroller, so this is an important safety feature.

If you have decided that convenience strollers fit your lifestyle well, there are some features you may wish to look for as you shop. First, look for a stroller that has adjustable handles. This will ensure that the stroller is comfortable for all of the adults that may be using it, no matter how different they are in height. Next, look for a stroller with a sunshade. This will protect your baby’s delicate head if you are out on a sunny day.

You will also want to note the age that the stroller’s manufacturer says you can safely begin using the stroller. Some are not safe to use until a baby is six months old, so make sure you check this if you intend to use the stroller with a young infant. Finally, consider the storage options you need. Do you need and under-the-seat basket? You can find convenience strollers with this feature. What about a cup holder for your child? This is also available, but not all models have it.

Convenience strollers help fill the gap between the larger single strollers which are heavy and sometimes difficult to store and the much smaller umbrella strollers which are very limited in features and capabilities.

Single StrollerSingle strollers are made for a single infant or child. They come in many shapes and sizes, different fabrics and colors. Most of the single strollers adjust with growth of your child. For instance, when you baby is an infant, you can adjust the stroller so that it looks more like a ‘pram’ or ‘carriage’, laying flat with all the sides up so baby can lie down. There are security straps to make sure the baby lies in place as well.

When the infant grows a little and can sit up more, you can bring the front end of the stroller down and allow their feet to dangle but they don’t touch the ground and the back up for a more upright ride. Single strollers have many advantages that double and triple strollers do not; they have more room for things such as storage underneath and on the backside of the stroller. You can purchase additional stroller accessories like a tray with cup holders to clip on to the back to hold the parent’s cups and keys.

Today’s manufacturers are thinking more along the lines of function and fashion. There are single strollers that look like tractors for boys and princess carriages for girls. The wheels are double and roll on ball bearings to be able to maneuver better on any surface, like uneven pavement or trails or a flat store floor. The single strollers are constructed of durable metal tubing covered with a woven fabric that resists tears and is water and stain resistant.

umbrella strollersSome of the single strollers can be classified as umbrella strollers because they have curved handles like umbrellas and fold up compact like an umbrella for easy storage. These single strollers are popular for a number of reasons, mostly because they are lightweight and are easily stored away, taking up little space in the mini van or trunk of a car or even hanging up in the garage.

single jogging stroller

Other single strollers are classified as jogging strollers and have three large wheels, one in the front and two in the back. The one wheel in the front can be ‘fixed’ so it can’t move other than straight ahead for jogging and exercise purposes. Jogging strollers are popular as regular single strollers because they are large and comfortable for the baby or child and can easily be maneuvered through a crowd of people at a parade or fair.

Single strollers are never meant for more than one child or baby. This would cause a safety hazard and could hurt your child. There are double strollers for two children or you could purchase a ‘jump seat’ or a stroller foot board that attaches to the back of a single stroller so the other child, usually an older one, can stand on the back or sit facing the opposite direction. These are not that expensive and hook on to the framework of single strollers. Your older child will enjoy a ride along on the single strollers and everyone will be happy.

Lightweight strollers

Lightweight strollers are often exactly what a family needs as far as strollers are concerned. Lightweight strollers make life easier for the family; the strollers are easy to carry, they are easy to maneuver, and they are easy to pack and stow away when not used. They can be great for families with one small child, or families with more than one small child.

While the idea of a lightweight stroller is great, the stroller still needs to be able to fit the needs of the family and the child who will be riding in the stroller. The only way to know what lightweight strollers are best for our needs is to know what to look for in a lightweight stroller.

Weight

If you are looking for lightweight strollers, you are obviously looking for strollers that are going to be lighter than the usual, big and bulky strollers. Lightweight strollers are going to be light and are going to be easy to fold and stow away, so these are the things you should look for. How heavy is the stroller, or how light is the stroller, compared to others that you see? How small does the stroller get when you fold it up? These are the questions to ask to understand if this selection is perfect for you.

Capacity

All strollers are going to have some type of limit as far as height, and weight are concerned. And the older your child gets, the less likely he or she will want to be in the stroller. Lightweight strollers will have different limits, but many may have smaller capacities than some of the bigger strollers. How big is your child, and how long will they be able to use the lightweight stroller that you are looking at? This is also a great indicator of what type of lightweight strollers you should be looking for.

Accessories

Accessories are always important for those who are purchasing lightweight strollers, or any type of stroller for that matter. Are you looking at a stroller for your toddler? If so, a cup holder for your child’s drink would be a good feature to have. Is there something to shade the child such as a canopy? Is there a place for you to store a diaper bag or even your purse? These questions can help you to narrow down your lightweight strollers to a few solid choices.

strollers accessories

Cost

Once you have narrowed down your strollers to a few simple choices, you can look at a price. Price comparison will allow you to find the best lightweight strollers for you, and also find the lightweight stroller that has the cost that most closely matches your budget. By doing this, you can get the maximum return on the lowest possible investment without giving up what you need.

When you look at a lightweight stroller, you may think of it in terms of weight. What you may not think about, however, are the accessories for your child, or the overall cost. By looking into all of these different aspects, you can be sure to find the best lightweight strollers for you and your family, so that your child can ride around comfortably.

An umbrella baby stroller is a light weight stroller that has two U-shaped handles and folds in on itself. Not all light weight baby strollers are umbrella strollers, some fold flat and do not fit the classification.

The best umbrella stroller for you depends on your budget and you and your baby’s individual needs. To get the best umbrella stroller make sure to check out these features:
* durability
* comfort
* convenient features or accessories
* easily folded
* safety

Unfortunatley, there is no single best umbrella stroller. They can sell for anywhere between $10 and $800 and range from the ultra cheap to the super luxurious. The best umbrella strollers to consider are:

Chicco C6: (MSRP $69.99) With front and rear suspension your little passenger will have a smooth ride and with shoulder strap and travel bag it’s easy to take with you anywhere. At 11lbs it’s one of the lightest in the umbrella strollers category.

Chicco C6

EvenFlo X-Sport: (MSRP $49.99) Plenty of storage for you, but not the greatest seat for baby.

EvenFlo X-Sport

Graco IPO: (MSRP $89.99) Larger front swivel wheels add to maneuverability, but the price tag and 17lb weight makes it not as good as the Chicco C6.

Graco IPO

Maclaren Quest Sport (MSRP $245.99) While very costly, this is the dream umbrella stroller! It weights only 11lbs but can hold a kid up to 55lbs. Loaded with great features and convenient options if you have the money it’s a must have.

Maclaren Quest Sport

Even the best umbrella stroller can’t carry an infant car seat and should not be used with babies under six months unless they have a reclining seat. They are primary designed for toddlers and due to their size will not offer the same features and accessories as standard strollers

The best umbrella stroller is not necessarily the most expensive. That doesn’t mean you should cheap out and not spend some cash,though. Like anything in this world you get what you pay for and spending a little money on the best umbrella stroller for you and your baby will pay off down the road.

Pick the best umbrella stroller that is a nice mix between value and features and that fits your lifestyle in order to insure you get the most out of your purchase. You will most likely use this stroller a lot and will have it a very long time, so choose wisely and don’t be afraid to spend a little money on it.

baby strollersBaby strollers have several other names such as prams, buggies, pushchairs, and baby carriages. In the past, the designs and models of strollers are limited. But recently, there are more elaborate designs available in the market, depending on the manufacturer of a certain stroller. When you are out shopping for a stroller, there are different factors that you have to consider. If you have twins, you can opt for a twin stroller. A sit and stand stroller is appropriate for your toddler and your baby, so you can watch over them with ease. On the other hand, there are some stroller seats that can be fitted in with a baby car seat. If you cannot find a nanny, while you are out exercising, you can look into different models and designs of jogging strollers.

The Rising Popularity of Strollers:

During the present times, with the innovation of most makers, baby strollers are getting more creative and more useful. What is more, there are already a lot of parents that have discovered the convenience and comfort that strollers are offering. There are several reasons for the increasing popularity of strollers. Recent models are more compact and lighter. Despite these, they are still durable and stable. Depending on the brand of the stroller, your baby will be able to use it for many months, even years. Lastly, there are some baby strollers that have multiple seating designs. You can buy twin strollers, triplet strollers, and even quad strollers.

The Best Stroller for a Newborn Infant:

The market does not only cater to older babies and toddlers. There are also available strollers for newborn infants. For your newborn, you can choose from a conventional design or a stroller with multiple purposes. These baby strollers are designed in such a way that they can be adjusted easily, so you can also use them as a baby sling and a baby mat. Prams for newborns are very comfortable. What is more, they look really nice. Since you are presented with several selections of strollers, you have to make sure that your choice is suitable for your child.

The Different Types of Baby Strollers:

There are different models and designs of baby strollers. The most common include the following:

1. Jogging Strollers - the tires of this design are filled with air, to allow easy maneuvering on all kinds of terrains. They provide your infant with a smoother ride. The best thing about a jogging stroller is that it can tackle through rough terrain. Manufacturers have come up with this design to help you keep yourself fit, while you are out with your baby. While there is a jogging stroller that only allows a seating capacity for one infant, you can also find a double jogging stroller. This design is best for twins or siblings that have 1 or 2-year age gap.

Jogging Strollers

2. Buggies or Umbrella Strollers - these designs are probably the lightest. They are also very compact, making them among the leading strollers in the market. They are easy to transport to trains and buses. They also fit well into the backseat of your car. They are usually available with rain hoods and trays.

Buggies or Umbrella Strollers

3. All-Terrain Strollers - these often have 3 wheels and are considered the most fashionable in the market. The high price of these strollers is seen on their great comfort and sleek design.

BOB strollers are known world wide as the standard bearers of innovation, state of the art technology and user centric jogging and all terrain strollers as well as bike trailers. If you’re looking to get some exercise with your little one, there is no better way than with one of the BOB strollers.

Formed in 1991 by bike industry veteran Roger Malinowski and airline mechanic Philip Novotny in Novotny’s machine shop, Beast of Burden started pumping out ground breaking bike trailers. As their invention caught on, they shortened their name to BOB and added innovative strollers to their line up.

In the course of attempting to make the best looking, best performing, highest quality jogging strollers on the market BOB strollers designed several revolutionary features. Most importantly, in 2005 they introduced the BOB Revolution with front swivel wheel. The front wheel was free to swivel so parents could easily maneuver through tight turns and narrow grocery store isles with no problem. For more stability in off road conditions or during a run the front wheel could lock into place. This feature would quickly become an industry standard, copied by all other serious jogging stroller designers.

BOB strollers produces both all-terrain and jogging strollers. All models except one, the Sport Utility Stroller D’Lux, come in either single or double passenger models. Here’s a quick break down.

All-terrain Bob strollers
Revolution ($389): BOB strollers’ first entry into the market, it’s welded aluminum alloy frame can support up to 70lbs of passenger. With innovative front swivel wheel for maneuverability and state of the art suspension for a smooth ride the Revolution was the original high quality all terrain stroller and is still one of the best.
Revolution 12" AW ($399): Based on the Revolution, this model has smaller 12" inch rear wheels for better maneuverability in tight spaces and easier storage. Same great features as the Revolution, including a 70 degree reclining seat for baby.
Stroller Strides Fitness ($399): The official Stroller Strides(R), the nationwide stroller exercise program founded by fitness expert Lisa Druxman. It’s the Revolution stroller offered in different colors and also includes Stroller Strides Fitness Kit (exercise bands and exercise manual inside a BOB handlebar console)
Sport Utility Stroller ($299): Standard 3 wheel design, with locked front wheel. Large 16′ inch knobby tires and adjustable state of the art suspension make for a smooth ride on any surface. It’s the mountain bike of baby strollers.

Jogging BOB strollers
Sport Utility Stroller D’Lux ($349): Based on the SUS all terrain stroller comes with 16" bicycle make, narrow low profile, high pressure tires for better on road running. State of the art suspension adds to a smooth run for both you and the little one.
Ironman ($349): The officially licensed baby stroller of the Ironman Triathlon, this model has stiffer shocks, slick road tires and state of the art suspension for the best ride available.

bob double jogging stroller bob double jogging stroller

All BOB strollers share a lot of the same features, in one form or another. Expect to see a ton of safety features like hand brakes and wrist straps. Comfortable seats with 70 degree reclining seats for maximum comfort are also common to all models.

The major complaint with any jogging or all-terrain stroller is storage and transport. They typically don’t fold easily and tend to take up a large amount of space in a trunk due to the wheels. BOB strollers are better than most. They fold in a quick two step process with easily removable wheels for even more compact storage. However, if you are looking for compactness BOB strollers and other jogging/all-terrain strollers aren’t for you.

BOB strollers are great looking, revolutionarily designed and stylishly put together. If you want the best all terrain or jogging stroller look no further than BOB strollers.

Today’s hectic schedules and active lifestyles require more variety than ever. Unlike the past, consumers of today are very fortunate to have available to them baby strollers in multiple designs, features and sizes. So, whether you have an infant or twin toddlers there is a baby stroller made with you in mind. Comfort, convenience and durability are common traits for many of the strollers and research should be done to find the baby stroller which best meets your family’s needs and activity level. Most people now are looking for a product which goes from infancy to toddler-hood and beyond - like the baby travel systems, also known as 2-in-1 strollers, instead of purchasing several items which are more specific in size and only provide use for limited periods of time.

Baby strollers come in many categories and sizes. There are full size strollers, mid size strollers, tandem strollers, side by side strollers, and even jogging strollers. Each style has its advantages and challenges. Depending upon your level of activity, there is a baby stroller for you!

Full size baby stroller

 Full size baby strollers are great for new parents of small babies who have lots of things to carry and require maximum comfort for their wee one. Most come highly apportioned with adjustable features which can actually serve the youngest infant to the largest toddler too. But if you require more baby mobility, then the full size baby stroller may prove to be a bit cumbersome for your lifestyle.

Mid size baby strollers

Mid size baby strollers are convenient for many situations and provide greater ease of use than the larger models. And, the mid size strollers also come with many wonderful features like shock absorbers for those bumpy trails and room for bulky outerwear, cup holders, etc.

If your lifestyle is athletic, then the stroller to consider is a jogging baby stroller. Its three bicycle wheel base provides a stable and smooth ride for baby while you are taking a relaxing walk or a brisk jog.

side by side double stroller

Do you have more than one child who needs to be in a stroller? Don’t forget the side by side double stroller or the front and rear tandem models.
It’s always a good idea to review the user manual that comes with your baby stroller for its best use and to learn about any maintenance which needs to be performed. This way your baby stroller will provide you excellent service for as long as you need it!

Umbrella strollers are some of the most popular strollers available to parents and grandparents today. Umbrella strollers are extremely lightweight, highly portable, and convenient to store because of their smaller size. They are very cost effective and affordable for just about any family. Because of these reasons, umbrella strollers can be incredibly beneficial for families with babies to toddlers. There are several types of umbrella strollers, and you are sure to be able to find a style that will meet your family’s needs.

Umbrella strollers got their name from several features that resemble the action and look of umbrellas. The most obvious similarity is the curved handles which closely resemble the handles of an umbrella. Another way in which umbrella strollers resemble umbrellas is the quick way in which the strollers can be opened and deployed for use and of course folded up neatly for storage in either your trunk or other convenient small space.

The typical umbrella stroller is a single seat stroller with either a three or a five-point harness system to keep your child secure in the seat. The stroller itself is compact, easy to maneuver through narrow shopping or strolling areas, and has little or no extras. These little gems can weigh as little as 10 pounds but are still capable of holding a toddler weighing up to approximately 40 pounds! An added benefit to these bare bones models is the price. You can get umbrella strollers with no extras for less than 30 dollars at many discount stores!

Baby umbrella stroller

If you do need some extra features, do not despair, there are umbrella strollers that can meet your needs as well. Many models come with a canopy to help shield your child from the sun, and some come with an under seat basket for storage as well. And some even offer reclining seats for your child. Keep in mind that most umbrella stroller seats do not fully recline, which is why umbrella strollers are not recommended for babies under 1 year of age. And there are some umbrella stroller models which offer all these features.

If you have more than one child, there are even umbrella strollers that can accommodate twins or two small children. Again, keep in mind that even though some of these models offer reclining seats, umbrella strollers usually do not FULLY recline, so these strollers are not recommended for children under six months of age. Like their single seated counterparts, there are no-frills models and of course models with some of the extras. Remember that when there are more features on an umbrella stroller or double umbrella stroller, the stroller itself will usually weigh more than the basic umbrella stroller and could possibly be a little more difficult to lift and store.

Baby double umbrella strollers

Since your days are hectic enough trying to get things done with a little one in tow, umbrella strollers have been designed to minimize the complications you experience in your daily activities. These easy to use strollers are becoming more like their larger, more cumbersome full-sized counterparts, with the latest developments in lightweight fabrics and frame designs which are making them more and more popular among parents and grandparents all over the world.
